The 6th edition of the Open Days (JPO), organized by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), features a major innovation: a pavilion dedicated entirely to drones. This new addition reflects the ongoing shift toward the digitalization of security operations and underscores the growing importance of advanced technologies in enhancing the effectiveness of law enforcement interventions, surveillance, and rapid response to emerging security threats.

The pavilion allows visitors to explore how intelligent drones are integrated into the daily operations of law enforcement, becoming essential tools for addressing the complex challenges of maintaining public order.

According to Divisional Commissioner Mohamed Mrabet, the DGSN has established specialized brigades focused on drone deployment and piloting to support both national and international events.

These expert-led brigades use drones to improve coordination on the ground and provide strategic support to security operations—all while operating within the legal framework, particularly the law on personal data protection.

Drones are employed to monitor large gatherings, combat irregular migration in hard-to-reach areas, and detect traffic violations, such as vehicles refusing to comply with police orders. They also help reinforce security in urban areas, offering a flexible and efficient alternative to traditional patrols.

The integration of drone technology reflects the DGSN's commitment to staying aligned with global advancements in artificial intelligence. It aims to ensure more targeted, proactive interventions and to strengthen the responsiveness and effectiveness of Morocco’s security services.
