46.21.وَاذْكُرْ أَخَا عَادٍ إِذْ أَنذَرَ قَوْمَهُ بِالْأَحْقَافِ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ النُّذُرُ مِن بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوا إِلَّا اللَّهَ إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ

46.21. Rappelle le souvenir du frère de `Âd lorsqu'il vint avertir son peuple dans le pays d'al-Ahqâf , où des avertisseurs étaient déjà venus avant et où d'autres vinrent encore après lui. «N'adorez, dit-il, que Dieu ! Je crains pour vous un terrible châtiment !»

46.21 . And make mention ( O Muhammad ) of the brother of Aad when he warned his folk among the wind curved sand hills and verily warners came and went before and after him saying : Serve none but Allah . Lo! I fear for you the doom of a tremendous Day .

46.21. Waothkur akha AAadin ith anthara qawmahu bial-ahqafi waqad khalati alnnuthuru min bayni yadayhi wamin khalfihi alla taAAbudoo illa Allaha innee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawmin AAatheemin

46.22.قَالُوا أَجِئْتَنَا لِتَأْفِكَنَا عَنْ آلِهَتِنَا فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَا إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ

46.22. – «Viens-tu, lui répondirent-ils, pour nous détourner de nos divinités? Alors, si ce que tu dis est vrai, fais venir les malheurs dont tu nous menaces !»

46.22 . They said ; Hast come to turn us away from our gods? Then bring upon us that wherewith thou threatenest us , if thou art of the truthful .

46.22. Qaloo aji/tana lita/fikana AAan alihatina fa/tina bima taAAiduna in kunta mina alssadiqeena

46.23.قَالَ إِنَّمَا الْعِلْمُ عِندَ اللَّهِ وَأُبَلِّغُكُم مَّا أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِ وَلَكِنِّي أَرَاكُمْ قَوْماً تَجْهَلُونَ

46.23. – «Dieu Seul en a connaissance, dit-il. Je ne fais que vous transmettre le Message dont je suis chargé. Mais je vois bien que j'ai affaire à un peuple d'ignorants.»

46.23 . He said : The knowledge is with Allah only . I convey unto you that wherewith I have been sent , but I see you are a folk that know not .

46.23. Qala innama alAAilmu AAinda Allahi waoballighukum ma orsiltu bihi walakinnee arakum qawman tajhaloona

46.24.فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ عَارِضاً مُّسْتَقْبِلَ أَوْدِيَتِهِمْ قَالُوا هَذَا عَارِضٌ مُّمْطِرُنَا بَلْ هُوَ مَا اسْتَعْجَلْتُم بِهِ رِيحٌ فِيهَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

46.24. Apercevant un nuage qui se dirigeait vers leurs vallées, les `Âd s'écrièrent : «C'est un nuage chargé de pluie pour nous.» – «Non ! C'est plutôt ce que vous étiez impatients de voir venir ! C'est un vent qui vous apporte un épouvantable malheur

46.24 . Then when they beheld it a dense cloud coming toward their valleys , they said ; Here is a cloud bringing us rain . Nay , but it is that which ye did seek to hasten , a wind wherein is painful torment ,

46.24. Falamma raawhu AAaridan mustaqbila awdiyatihim qaloo hatha AAaridun mumtiruna bal huwa ma istaAAjaltum bihi reehun feeha AAathabun aleemun

46.25.تُدَمِّرُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ بِأَمْرِ رَبِّهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا لَا يُرَى إِلَّا مَسَاكِنُهُمْ كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْقَوْمَ الْمُجْرِمِينَ

46.25. et qui détruit tout sur son passage, par ordre de son Seigneur.» Et le lendemain matin, on ne voyait plus que les traces de leurs demeures. C'est ainsi que Nous rétribuons les criminels.

46.25 . Destroying all things by commandment of its Lord . And morning found them so that naught could be seen save their dwellings . Thus do We reward the guilty folk .

46.25. Tudammiru kulla shay-in bi-amri rabbiha faasbahoo la yura illa masakinuhum kathalika najzee alqawma almujrimeena
