A British girl who went missing 10 years ago, was seen in Marrakech in May 2007 by a holidaymaker, reports British newspaper The Express. The woman, who chose to remain anonymous, told the media that she saw Madeleine McCann days after the little girl disappeared from her holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, a civil parish in Portugal, when her parents were dining with friends.

The woman, who lives in Spain, stated that : «I was in Marrakech at a petrol station and i saw this man with a little girl. She looked very distressed. She said "can we go see mummy now?"». She described the man who was with the girl as in his thirties and roughly 5ft 10in (around 1.77 meters) tall. She also claimed that he did not look Moroccan. The woman declared that she called the police to inform them about her sighting but they turned down her call.

Missing for 10 years

Many witnesses have claimed seeing the missing girl in Morocco. According to the same source, a man from Yorkshire, England, claimed that he saw Madeleine on the same day at the Ibis Hotel in Marrakech just a few blocks away from the station earlier mentioned by the woman. Others believe that the missing child was spotted in eastern Morocco, most precisely in a city called Zaio on June of the same year. Other alleged sightings of young Madeleine indicated that she was in Tarifa, Spain.

For the record, Madeleine was declared missing just 10 days before her birthday in May 2007. She was on a holiday from the UK with her parents Gerry and Kate McCann. Her case created a lot of controversy in the world and in the UK. Her parents continued the investigation believing that her disappearance was part of a criminal act.
